Overview

UX designers help companies understand and design for their customers

People that specialize in user experience (UX) help build brands and improve sales. UX designers understand user needs and provide support both to the customer and the IT organization with a strong focus on business results.

Through data-driven user research, the role of the UX designer is to work with usability and user journeys as value propositions to encourage customer satisfaction and loyalty. Organizations in both the public and private sectors are well aware of this and the area of UX design is growing fast.

What a UX designer does every day

Forget graphics. UX designers assess user needs and business goals, meet with stakeholders, choose methodologies, and demonstrate a strong understanding of different research methods.

UX designers organize and conduct interviews with real consumers, make observations, use ethnographic tools, carry out contextual inquiry and other qualitative methodologies.

The role is directly involved in the process of making a product useful, usable and enjoyable for its users. They are comfortable running collaborative design sessions with researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to generate design ideas directly from research themes.

You’ll become a translator between human behaviour and needs and technology. You’ll learn to be a bold researcher of human behaviour and work on a daily basis with research and studies to gain insights and understanding of user groups applying psychology, design and technology as elements.
