About The Team

The design team at Didi Lab aims to become the power house of cutting edge innovations and a global hub to fuel Didi’s international expansion. About The Role

As a User Experience Researcher, you will work on uncovering critical user insights, which will shape the direction of the product and thereby the overall experience of our users. You will be required to plan and execute primary research at various stages of the design lifecycle by employing appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies. You will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of designers, engineers and product managers to communicate your findings as well as to ensure that your findings are implemented. Additionally, you are expected to take full ownership of research projects and have the ability to work independently in a fast paced work environment. For this role, you will be based in Mountain-view with frequent travels to international markets, e.g. Latin America.

Responsibilities

Work hands-on with program and project managers, designers, executive leadership and subject matter experts to prioritize research opportunities.

Conduct independent research on multiple user profiles such as drivers, passengers and other relevant verticals.

Collect and analyze user behavior through experiments, benchmark studies, lab studies, surveys and other appropriate methodologies.

Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and oral presentations and persuade relevant teams to implement the recommended changes.

Be willing to travel to key markets and co-ordinate with on ground staff to uncover insights from users belonging to other cultures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor degree in psychology, communication, human-computer interaction, human factors engineering, industrial engineering, cognitive science, anthropology, information sciences, or related field.

At least 4 years of industry work experience in an applied research setting in Local market.

Demonstrated experience and comprehensive understanding about Local market. This could be from previous experience in UX / market research.

Strong communication skills as a native speaker and writer of the local market (Spanish or Portuguese). Fluent in English, speech and written.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with usability testing tools such as Camtasia, Morae, Tobii etc. Experience with analysis and presentation tools such as Excel, SPSS, PowerPoint etc.

Experience with design prototyping on tools such as Sketch, Axure, Balsamiq, InVision etc. (Not required but recommended)

Basic understanding of the domain expertise of partner teams such as engineering, product and business stakeholders.

Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.

Strong working knowledge of statistics, survey design, interviewing, and the principles of experiment design.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills and presentation skills.
