Job Description

ABOUT YOU:

3-5+ years working in a fast-paced design studio environment, with 3+ years in industrial or product design

Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a closely related field

Organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter in a demanding environment

Ready to work within a small and diverse team, including proactively spearheading new challenges

Passionate about maintaining high standards for design and constantly striving to exceed expectations

Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the project

Strong communication skills, both written and spoken

Strong sense of aesthetics and form language

Positive outlook and attitude!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Actively collaborate on projects with our team and clients starting from a brief all the way through the final delivery, using skills such as sketching, CAD modeling, and fabrication to bring projects to life.

Visualize and iterate on concepts developed through ideation and brainstorming

Make products real through functional and aesthetic prototyping

Refine designs for production with manufacturing vendors

Participate in client workshops, and actively build strong, trust-based relationships with our client partners to ensure continued engagement for Propelland.

Contribute to the development of a creative, fun, and inspiring culture at Propelland. We aim to motivate each other to create impact through meaningful experiences.

CORE SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a closely related field

3-5+ years of experience as an industrial or product designer

Proficient with CAD software (Solidworks, Fusion 360, or similar), Rendering software (Keyshot or similar), Photoshop, Illustrator

Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and materials

Familiarity with 3D printing, laser cutting, and milling

Ability to quickly visualize 3D products and forms through sketching, computer illustration, and/or computer modeling

Ability to fabricate 3D products and forms through simple mockups, machining, and 3D printing of prototypes

Ability to work with engineers and manufacturing teams to design for real-world constraints, materials, and manufacturing processes

Thorough understanding of the design process

BONUS:

Experience in other fields of design, such as graphic design, UI/UX, illustration, design research, or strategy

Experience with basic mechanics, engineering, or electronics

Familiarity with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontrollers

Good understanding of design & business strategy to align with client expectations and goals.

Desire to be part of the team both professionally and socially such as grabbing a morning coffee, eating lunch with the team, and offsites!
