Go back to 1994, right before the internet made it into our homes for the first time, even before AOL created chat rooms. Would you have liked to know how big the world wide web was going to get? Or the unimaginable opportunities ahead of us?
Fast forward to 2004. It was at this point in time that we realized that we could be mobile and social at the same time! And that changed everything.
Today, we are standing on a launchpad, ready to get blasted into a new generation of tech/behavior evolution. We are still understanding the effects of socializing everything and the consequences of mobile dependency. But tech, science, and psychology are not slowing down for us to make sense of the world as it changes.
What is happening? What, out of all the noise, will actually impact my life? What should I be playing with, adopting or exploring?

Voice-activated devices. Amazon has taken the lead with its popular Echo device (Alexa) but Google is putting up a fight. This means you will soon interact with really smart assistants in your car, your TV, and even your fridge. Google is learning fast how big this market is becoming and every major brand is now planning on becoming a player. Get yourself one and start to explore how you could build the next killer app in this new ecosystem of voice recognition and connected things.
Redefinition of work. How familiar are you with the emergence of new skills and nomadic mindsets, crowdsourcing, bots and automation, corporate ethics, work equality, work/life balance, and the purpose of work. We have gone from work defining the identity of a few privileged people 100 years ago to searching for meaningful professional growth experiences for everybody today. It is now clear that work is not at all what it used to be, so why not redesign a company or a team around these new demands? Hire people based on what they want to learn; be transparent and honest about your goals; be flexible and encourage remote workers; promote healthy work habits that benefit and grow our most human characteristics.
Cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies are capturing headlines and people's imaginations. The prospect of making millions or missing the opportunity is maddening. And in just one week the market value of Bitcoin or Ethereum can vary 30-40%. The original idea was to create an alternative currency, independent from the big firms, to promote decentralization. It's arguable if the goal has been achieved but the truth is that we are just witnessing its first steps. A lot of of people believe that crypto has the power to change the world the way the internet had back in 1994. Go and explore what cryptocurrencies available you want to buy. Immerse yourself in the mechanics of exchangers, and digital wallets, and discover if you have nerves to withstand a week of crazy fluctuation.
