English is the main working language at Hyper Island.
As an applicant to a Hyper Island Diploma Program you have to hold the equivalent school background of a Swedish upper-secondary graduation. Your application needs to include attested document/s in English or Swedish to verify this! Citizens of the European Community (including EEA citizens) do not need a resident permit to study at Hyper Island in Karlskrona or Stockholm. The only requirement concerning applicants from EU is to fill in the form Registration of right of residence and send it to the Swedish Migration Board! As a non-European Community citizen, you must apply for a resident permit in Sweden. Please apply at least three months in advance! COSTThe tuition fees apply only to the Hyper Island Diploma Programs, which are open to all English speaking persons regardless of nationality or citizenship are as follows - Motion Graphics Designer & Developer, Stockholm, 40 weeks, 12 900 EUR - Motion Graphics Designer & Developer, Karlskrona, 40 weeks, 12 900 EUR - Interactive Art Director, Stockholm, 45 weeks, 12 900 EUR - Digital Media, Karlskrona, 90 weeks, 19 850 EUR - Digital Media, Stockholm, 90 weeks, 19 850 EUR - E-commerce Manager, Stockholm 40 weeks 12.900 EUR - Application Designer and Developer for Mobile Devices,Karlskrona 60 weeks 16.300 EUR (VAT may occur to all full-time programs) PAYMENT CONDITIONSPayment conditions for a 1-year full-time program: - 50% should be paid 10 days before course starts - 40% should be paid 20101231 (first year) - 10% should be paid 10 days before graduation (students will not receive a complete Diploma if the full program fee is not paid) Payment conditions for a 2-year full-time program: Please make the payments by the following dates: - 50% should be paid 20100701 - 20% should be paid 20101231 (first year) - 20% should be paid 20110630 (second year) - 10% should be paid 10 days before graduation (students will not receive a complete Diploma if the full program fee is not paid) - Interactive Art Director, Stockholm - Motion Graphics Designer & Developer, Karlskrona - Motion Graphics Designer & Developer, Stockholm - Motion Graphics Designer, Stockholm - Digital Media, Karlskrona - Digital Media, Stockholm - E-commerce Manager, Stockholm - Application Designer & Developer for Mobile Devices, Kalskrona If the down payments are delayed, interest will be added according to Swedish law. A complete agreement to sign will be enclosed with admission letter. The agreement should be signed and forwarded back to Hyper Island within 30 days. Leonardo da VinciHyper Island offers the opportunity for its students to apply for a scholarship administrated by Hyper Island and The Swedish “Programkontoret”. The scholarship supports Vocational training abroad that will result in cooperation between countries, deeper knowledge about the industry and culture differences within the European union. The scholarship is intended for the internship period only. Hyper Island students who have secured internship placements in Europe (Europe only) can apply for this scholarship. Any student at Hyper Island can apply for the Leonardo da Vinci scholarship as long as you meet the requirements stated above, and are enrolled in a full time program. The scholarship sum varies, depending on the program and duration the internship period. The maximum amount rewarded is 3000 EURO per student. You cannot obtain the VISA in Sweden instead you need to wait for the VISA to be sent to you at your current location. The best way is to apply for your Student Visa through the Swedish Migration Board office. If you apply through a consulate in your own country the process might be longer than 3 months. You can find more information here. Student VISAS for EU membersIf your country is a member of the European Union you won’t need an actual Student Visa. The only requirement concerning applicants from EU is to fill in the form Registration of right of residence and sending it to: http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/studera_en.html ACCOMODATION IN STOCKHOLM AND KARLSKRONAAt present, Hyper Island offers no accommodation, such as a campus dormitory or student housing. Finding a place to stay will be your own responsibility. The process takes approximately 2-3 weeks and cannot be administered by Hyper Island. (The town of Karlskrona is relatively small. If you live on Trossö or in close proximity to Stumholmen or Trossö you can walk or ride a bike to school.
